QLD Government Boosts Home Owner’s Grant to $20,000

The Queensland Government has just increased the First Home Owner’s Grant to $20,000. That’s $20,000 towards the cost of building your dream home.
From the 1st July 2016, the Queensland Government are giving a 12month boost to the existing $15,000 First Home Buyers Grant meaning that first home buyers will get $20,000 towards the purchase of their new build house up to a value of $750,000.
Furthermore, transfer duty (formerly stamp duty) exemption is still in place for first home buyers for properties under $500,000, with concessions available for properties valued between $500,000 and $550,000.
First home vacant land concessions are still available for first home buyers on land valued under $400,000. For purchases under $250,000 there is no transfer duty payable. Whereas transfer duty concessions are available on land valued between $250,000 and $400,000.
